It was my last morning in the Bahamas. The water was still, the light was soft, and I wasn't ready to leave. I picked a hibiscus from a nearby bush and set it on the surface, watching it drift slowly across the shallow reef below.I'm not sure what I was thinking in that moment. Maybe nothing. Maybe that's the point. Some places take something from you when you go, and all you can do is leave something behind in return.
